Cricket has grown on a global scale like wildfire over the last few years. This has become evident with tournaments and fixtures filling up a year-round schedule on a club and international level. This has unavoidably filtered down to dramatically influence the local junior level’s demand to be able to play cricket throughout the whole year and not just part of it. The cricket academies involved believe not just in coaching cricket skills but also creating the opportunity for the players to have pitch time in a competitive environment.
Unfortunately, currently, not many opportunities are presented to junior players from Tshwane to participate in a winter cricket league and they are forced to look elsewhere to meet their needs.
Thus, the Tshwane Super League (TSL) was born, to fill the need of local Tshwane junior cricketers in the winter months by participating in a local tournament that was designed to fill the gap for junior players that the bigger cricket unions have neglected.
We would like to provide a platform for local junior players to participate in a tournament, while helping develop and refine their skills further during the off-season, being part of one of these cricket academies.
